Parks Department Gets Big Foellinger Grant
The Foellinger Foundation is celebrating 50 years of supporting the community. The foundation Wednesday announced a 1 million dollar grant to the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department. Parks Director Al Moll said the money will be used for a new sound system at Foellinger Outdoor Theatre, and for programs at the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory.
McCain V.P. Choice Nears
It's thought that either Mitt Romney or
Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty could be tapped by
John McCain as his running mate yet this week. Whomever it
is is expected to appear with McCain at one or more rallies in
midwestern swing states this weekend.
Gustav Could Hit Gulf Coast
Tropical Storm Gustav has weakened
considerably since Tuesday, but no one on the Gulf Coast should
be getting comfortable. Forecasters expect the storm to slowly
regain strength, and it cloud become a Category 3 hurricane when
it approaches later this weekend.

Enrollment Way Up at Ivy Tech
More than 86,000 students are attending
the 23 Ivy Tech Community College campuses in Indiana this year.
That's an 11 percent increase from last year.
